Student Council is the heart of school spirit and fun events at Arnprior District High School! Student Council represents the interests of the student body. The student council organizes an outstanding amount of events throughout the year, which include the dances, MULTIPLE spirit weeks/days, character education assemblies, along with supporting important conversations (i.e., Mental Health Week, Empowerment Workshops, M.A.D.D. presentations, etc.), and other events/activities!
Spirit week is YOUR time to get wild with fun, express yourself, and make memories at ADHS. Student Council always shapes events around student input, and kindly encourages students to share their opinions with us! Student Council members are open-minded and easily reachable throughout the school year.
The executive is comprised of a diverse group of twenty students (not including grade representatives) that fill eight minister positions, including our two Prime Ministers. Our large student council brings a dynamic variety of ideas that enable us to put on various events throughout the year. Representatives for Grades 10-12 are elected in May/June of the previous school year, and Grade 9 representatives will be elected in September.
The Student Council positions (in no specific order) are:
Prime Ministers
Minister of Spirit
Minister of Mental Health / Wellbeing
Minister of Athletics
Minister of Technology
Minister of The Arts
Minister of Public Relations & Communication
Minister of Finance
Minister of Records
Minister of Environment
Minister of Equality
Grade Representatives
