Arnprior District High School (ADHS) offers an Extended French program for all grades. A majority of the students who enroll in the program are from Walter Zadow Public School's late French Immersion program; however, any student may enroll who meets the eligibility criteria.
Extended French is intended for Anglophone families. Parents/guardians and students do not have to speak French at home. Students enrolled benefit from strong organizational skills as information is often presented at a faster pace. A keen motivation to learn French is also beneficial.
Students who wish to apply for French Immersion must meet the following criteria:
Students must complete six courses to obtain their Extended French certificate with two courses in both Grade 9 and Grade 10. La Géographie (Grade 9) and Histoire du Canada (Grade 10) are offered in alternate years. For 2013-2014, Grade 9 and 10 students will take Grade 10 Histoire du Canada.
