Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)

All students must successfully complete the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) requirement under the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) to earn a Secondary School Graduation Diploma (OSSD). For most students, this requirement is met through the administration of the OSSLT in the spring of Grade 10.

The test is based on the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum expectations for language and communication, particularly reading and writing, up to and including Grade 9.
